At Kosi Forest Lodge, the days have a pleasing pattern and I find myself anticipating each delight of the day. I am looking forward to the dinner out at the boma, next to a roaring open fire under open skies. The gentle and kind ladies serving us perfectly complement the setting.<\/p>\n<p>Then I will have my delicious outdoor bath, with golden oil lamps lighting up the reed walls and the forest canopy above. I know I will sleep well, as somehow the quality of one\u2019s sleep is directly proportional to the closeness to nature.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5422\" style=\"width: 606px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5422\" class=\" wp-image-5422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isibindi.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2015\/09\/Kosi-Bath-Reduced-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"A daily highlight \u2013 to bath under open African skies\" width=\"596\" height=\"397\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5422\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A daily highlight \u2013 to bath under open African skies<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I will wake just before 7, lifting every one of the tarpaulin blinds of my cosy tent, letting in the rising sun and symphony of woodland birdsong while I drink my strong, hot coffee.<\/p>\n<p>After a hot breakfast we may go canoeing or snorkeling, and have a picnic lunch overlooking the lakes at Kosi Mouth. This will be followed by a squishy nap, a Raffia Forest walk or a read in bed, after which the whole anticipatory pleasure starts all over again.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5423\" style=\"width: 686px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5423\" class=\"wp-image-5423\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isibindi.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2015\/09\/Kosi-Bed-Reduced-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Kosi-Bed-Reduced-1024x682\" width=\"676\" height=\"450\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5423\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">And so to bed<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I go on holiday in a lovely place, I get that feeling of looking forward to everything.
